Cheesy Cheddar Dog Biscuits
This was the easiest recipe I’ve tried so far for homemade dog biscuits. I did modify it slightly. It calls for a very small amount of garlic powder, and I was not comfortable using it since I’ve always been told garlic can be toxic. I’m sure the amount used is safe for dogs, but use your discretion. I added a little more cheese than it called for too, and Leko seemed to enjoy the biscuit even without the garlic.
Servings: Approx. 2 dozen
Prep Time: 15 min
Cook Time: 30 min
Preheat Oven to 375°
2 1/2 cups All Purpose Flour (I used Whole Wheat Flour)
1/3 cup Sour Cream
2/3 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese
1 teaspoon Dried Parsley Flakes
1/8 teaspoon Garlic Powder (optional)
2/3 cup Water
2 tablespoons Olive Oil
Grease a baking sheet or spray with cooking spray. In a large bowl, mix together flour, cheese, sour cream and parsley. Then, add water & olive oil and form the dough. Roll dough into golf ball-sized balls and place on greased baking sheet. Press the tops of the dough balls with the back of a spoon to lightly flatten. Bake for approximately 30 minutes, or until biscuits are a light golden brown. Cool on a wire rack. Store in an airtight container and refrigerate.
