The Dynamic Duo
At nearly 9 weeks old, little Cooper came home in a snowstorm. A half hour drive to get him quickly doubled as we drove through blizzard-like conditions to get to him.
The introduction went as expected. Leko wasn’t too welcoming of Cooper at first. He sniffed him and barked at him repeatedly. Cooper really didn’t seem too phased by all the commotion his brother was causing, and went about playing and sleeping.
We’ve had Cooper for a week now and already they’re becoming more cordial with each other. Both of them can be instigators (ESPECIALLY COOPER!) and will taunt the other to play. Cooper is being the typical little brother. He eats Leko’s food. When Leko tries to eat, he goes up to him and licks his nose… sending Leko in a tizzy. He will stop playing when he sees Leko on the floor and will slowly creep around the coffee table, peek his head out to see where he is, then make his big move and pounce on him. Poor Leko isn’t used to all this, and tends to stay up on the sofa until the coast is clear or when Cooper seems to be preoccupied. I once witnessed Leko getting extremely mad at Cooper for chasing him, and he grabbed his Kong bone on the sofa and chucked it at Cooper’s head. He was pretty impeccable aim!
Cooper was pretty nervous to leave the confines of the living room where he spent most of his time playing, eating and sleeping. Two days into his homecoming, and he wouldn’t venture off into the other rooms of the house to explore. Big brother Leko showed him the way one day, and Cooper followed him into every room. Now… he runs the house like he owns the place!
These two are quite a character when together… I’m sure they’re will be LOTS of funny stories to come!
